The Washington Redskins finally made a long-term commitment to a quarterback this offseason, but it was not the one playing the position for them the last few seasons. The Redskins traded for Alex Smith way before teams could make it official, bringing in the player who has led the Kansas City Chiefs to the playoffs the last three seasons. He makes them better at the position, and now they need to shift focus to the defensive side of the ball.

The defensive line for the Redskins is atrocious, though they could find some help in the first round. Outside of maybe Vita Vea from Washington, Maurice Hurst from Michigan is the best defensive tackle this draft class has to offer. He is going to find himself going in the first round, and Washington would be a great place for him to land.

Hurst had a heart issue during the NFL Scouting Combine, and some believe it may make him fall to the second round. However, he was clear by doctors after the fact, and it has not affected his play during his time with the Wolverines. He is a freakishly good athlete for a man his size, and the Redskins need all the help they can get up front next season, as they try to keep pace in a very good NFC East.
