2018 NFL Mock Draft: Sam Darnold goes to Browns
By Brad Weiss
There are many different ways the New York Giants can go with the No. 2 overall pick, including trading it away. Last season, they struggled through a 3-13 season, as they failed to get it done on both sides of the ball. In 2018, the Giants will have a brand new look, as they have done a nice job bringing in some solid pieces this offseason already.
One such piece was Nate Solder, who will finally give Eli Manning the left tackle he has been missing. On the defensive side of the ball, Jason Pierre-Paul was traded away, and the Giants may decide to draft his replacement with the second overall pick. If it is a pass rusher they covet, there is no better prospect in this draft at doing just that then Bradley Chubb from N.C. State.
Chubb is the most explosive defensive player in this draft class, and some say he is even better than Myles Garrett was coming out of college. Garrett was the first overall pick of the Cleveland Browns last year, so that is definitely saying something. Chubb can make this Giants pass rush instantly better, and that was the strength of the Giants teams that won two Super Bowls in a five year period. Chubb makes sense at No. 2, but the Giants may draft an arm.
