2018 NFL Mock Draft: Sam Darnold goes to Browns
By Brad Weiss
The Chicago Bears have been very active in free agency this year, adding some talent to the wide receiving corps. Allen Robinson is going to be the No. 1 wideout that quarterback Mitchell Trubisky needs to take the next step in his development in 2018. This Bears team is going to turn some heads, though they may be a year or two away from actually challenging in the NFC North.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Bears need someone who is going to get after the quarterback next season. Tremaine Edmunds from Virginia Tech is an absolute beast of a pass rusher, and plays with incredible energy. He is the kind of spark plug this defense needs to be competitive in their division, especially going against Aaron Rodgers twice a season.
Edmunds is not only an explosive pass rusher, but he is one of the better tacklers in this draft class. Add to that the fact that he is barely 19 years old, and you have someone who can be the cornerstone of this Bears defense for years to come. His tape is pretty impressive, and for a Bears team lacking star power on defense, he could fill that role for them in year one.
