Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue will return to the sidelines today (March. 30.) The Cavaliers will not permit Lue to coach, insisting on easing him back in slowly.

Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyron Lue has been sidelined recuperating from an illness, but it appears his health is gaining more strength. Per Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavaliers will have Lue on the sideline against the New Orleans Pelicans today (March. 30.) But he won’t coach, as the Cavs want to ease him back during the Cavaliers have a four-game homestand.

Lue joining the Cavaliers as an observer will be crucial to the team’s morale moving forward. The Cavaliers are 6-1 so far since Lue fell ill in a March 17 matchup against the Chicago Bulls. In his time away from the team, Lue has focused on health and diet to improve his wellbeing, according to ESPN.

"This will be the first time that Lue is expected to address the team since leaving the Cavaliers on March 19 because of medical and rest issues. During his absence, Lue has been using a chef to improve his diet and has been on a steady exercise plan.Lue had been dealing with chest pains and other serious symptoms, including coughing up blood, compounded by a loss of sleep for the majority of the season."

The Cavaliers are currently 45-30 and are still No. 3 in the Eastern Conference playoff standings. The road for the Cavaliers may be more difficult this time — no Kyrie Irving or a legit third option to turn to. But, Lue’s championship pedigree as both a player and a coach is still an advantage for the Cavaliers. All Lue must do now, is continue to take care of his body to remain healthy. The playoffs can be taxing both mentally and physically. If the Cavs want to go far, they need their leader ready for the long haul.
