C/1B, High-End Spend

Cody Bellinger, $4,100

.455/.500/.636 with 0 HR in 11 at-bats

Cody Bellinger is kind of in the middle of pricing tonight. He’s not super high, but he’s sort of expensive for a middle ground option (a teammate is in the same spot later on). The only pitch Cueto throws that Bellinger didn’t have a good rating against in 2017 is the sinker. Even then, Bellinger was just below average and Cueto only threw a sinker 19 percent of the time. In total truth, Bellinger isn’t always my favorite play. He has some of the best power in the game but is also a candidate to go 0-4 with two strikeouts any given night. However, if he can hit Cueto at the clip he has, it’s just a matter of time before a ball leaves the yard. The fact the Dodgers offense went silent leans more in this direction as well.

Secondary Option – Paul Goldschmidt, $4,500

Mid-Range

Miguel Cabrera, $3,800 –Note: This analysis is from Thursday. It still stands after the rainout.

.333/.474/.600 with 1 HR in 15 at-bats

Cabrera is a “mid-range” option although he is a touch pricey for this tier. Miggy is coming off a very mediocre season, especially by his standards. 2018 represents a chance for a bounce-back and he could get started right off the hop when the Pittsburgh Pirates and Ivan Nova come to town. Cabrera struggled against righties last year but that was highly unusual for him. Nova is a ground ball specialist and carries a low strikeout rate. Miggy was far better at home last season and Nova shouldn’t scare anyone.

Secondary Option – Buster Posey, $2,700

Value

Chris Iannetta,  $2,200

0 at-bats vs. Robbie Ray

If you read the brief intro to this DFS article the other day, you know the humidor being installed in Arizona is something that should be treated with caution. Still, fortune can favor the bold and a Colorado Rockies stack could be one route to go today. It’s risky but D-Backs starter Robbie Ray was far worse at home last year and has poor stats against the Rockies in his career. Iannetta had a high average in 80 at-bats last year vs. lefties and this is a great spot for cheap Colorado exposure.

Secondary Option – Brian McCann, $2,200
