1. MVP

LeBron James has gotten a lot of heat for a lot of things during his career. The decision, some political comments, etc. While he’s arguably the best player of all-time and undoubtedly the best player of this generation, hate comes with the territory. Unfortunate? Yes. But for the most part, James has handled it extremely well as he’s become a perfect role model for young children and the ideal definition of a perfect example of an athlete. James made some comments this week that are catching a lot of heat, however. No they aren’t political or controversial, but rather about a question he was asked.

When James was asked about the MVP race, he said he deserved the award. Now, not in that way, but it’s his choosing himself which has some fans up in arms. However, he isn’t wrong. Even though James has often given praise to teammates and other players, it’s about time he gives himself some credit. While a lot of people have different opinions of what the MVP award truly means, the award is given to the most valuable player. In terms of value, James is second to none and theoretically should win the award every year. But where’s the fun in that?

Next: Every NBA team's greatest draft pick of all time

Even though James Harden is a lock (finally) for MVP in the eyes of many, James deserves a bit of consideration and recognition. His comments were absolutely true. He’s taken the reigns of two completely different squads this year, through injury and otherwise and lifted them to the three seed in the East. Not to mention the 33-year-old is having arguably the best season of his distinguished career. So before anybody gives James slack for saying he should be the MVP, step back, look at the facts and put things into perspective. James is absolutely deserving of the award.
