Manchester City beat Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park on Saturday, March 31. Here are all the highlights from the Premier League match.

Manchester City eased past Everton 3-1 on Saturday to pull within three points of the Premier League title, which they can clinch next weekend at home against Manchester United. The win at Goodison was also revenge of sorts, after Pep Guardiola’s side lost here 4-0 last season and drew with the Toffees at the Etihad earlier this term.

City took the lead in only the fourth minute, Leroy Sane blasting a powerful volley past Jordan Pickford following David Silva’s cross. The goal ensured an easy 90 minutes for Guardioal’s men ahead of Wednesday’s highly-anticipated Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Liverpool.

Gabriel Jesus made it two in the 12th minute, heading past Jordan Pickford from close range, and Raheem Sterling put the result beyond doubt in the 37th minute, turning in another exquisite Silva cross. Everton pulled one back after halftime through Yannick Bolasie, but City were untroubled for the remainder of the game.

This was in many ways an encapsulation of City’s season: dominance to the point of boredom. So it’s worth emphasizing just how extraordinary they’ve been. They’re on track for 102 points, seven more than the previous record, and will clinch the title earlier than any team in Premier League history with a win next week.

And they’ve done it all playing some of the most breathtaking attacking soccer the Premier League has ever seen, scoring 88 goals so far and conceding only 21, the fewest of any team in the league. Whether they clinch the title next weekend or not, it’s clear we’re witnessing one of the best teams in the history of the English game.
