You’re not the only one who thought the Final Four buzzer sounded just like a car horn.
There are a handful of sporting events throughout the year that are considered blockbuster events. The Super Bowl will forever remain king, but the Final Four is up there on the list of things we look forward to every year.
When an event is a tentpole, a ton of production value gets poured into making sure it’s presented in the best format possible. We get all of the sounds from the experience pumped into living rooms and sports bars across the country: the roar of the crowd, the swish of the nets, the blaring of car horns.
Wait, what?
If you found yourself looking out the window everytime the shot clock at the Final Four went off, you’re not alone. For some reason, the Alamo Dome buzzer sounds just like a car horn and just about everyone noticed.
It didn’t take long for people of the internet to get annoyed with the Alamo Dome’s buzzer, which sounded exactly like a car horn.
For the love of my sanity whoever is running the stadium sounds for the Michigan vs Loyola Chicago game STOP PLAYING A CAR HORN. #FinalFour2018 pic.twitter.com/MYT0bIiMTD

Every time that horn blows, I look out my window because it sounds like a car is honking.

At some point, enough is enough. If you were a Michigan fan already annoyed that Sister Jean’s prayers were working against you on national television, the car horn was the cherry on top of your rage.
Even Loyola fans, listening to the game through at max volume in sports bars across Chicago, weren’t there to be subjected to a Pavlovian experiment.
