LeBron James and Justin Timberlake had a brief conversation during the Cavs win against the Pelicans on Friday night, but what were they talking about?
LeBron James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to 107-102 win against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night, racking up 27 points, nine rebounds and 11 assists, and breaking Michael Jordan’s record of consecutive games with double-digit points in the process.
But this is LeBron James we’re talking about, meaning his basketball greatness is an afterthought if he also takes time out of his busy schedule of dragging the Cavs to the playoffs to talk to, say, Justin Timberlake during the game.
We’ll never know for sure what LeBron had to say to JT on account of both of them were doing that thing famous people do now where they cover their mouths when they speak to each other, lest everyone speculate wildly about their every thought and feeling.

Well, guess what? We can speculate anyway! What were they talking about?
LeBron’s free agency
In case you haven’t heard, LeBron will be a free agent at the end of the season. LeBron being the greatest basketball player currently alive, this is A Big Deal. It’s also a difficult decision, with almost every team in the NBA interested in signing the King.
His decision, wherever he goes, will significantly reshape the NBA, and so who better to ask for advice than one-time NSYNC heartthrob and “Suit and Tie (feat. Jay-Z)” singer Justin Randall Timberlake? He probably told him to play for the Nets.
Prince
The most recent notable thing Justin Timberlake did — prior to his conversation with LeBron, anyway — was perform the halftime show at the Super Bowl, during which he “honored” Prince by playing one of his songs and projecting his image onto a large, wavy, screen-type thing.
But of course, as every Prince fan in the entire world pointed out before, after and during the event itself, this was exactly the sort of thing Prince would’ve hated, at least if we’re to trust the very specific words of the man himself.
Seeing as how LeBron is a Prince fan, we can only imagine he was making this very point to JT, who judging by his reaction still doesn’t quite get it.

Nothing
Their shirts were over their mouths so they were probably doing some sort of elaborate, let’s-make-some-dork-writer-write-a-silly-article-about-this-non-conversation routine. They were probably saying things like, “words, words, words” and “I never know what to say when I’m pretending to have a conversation so people get all bent out of shape speculating about what I may or may not be saying.”
The laughs afterward are really what sold it.
