Green Bay Packers – Chick-fil-A

In high school, I worked at a Chick-fil-A. It was your typical high school job. I assume that everyone in high school worked in fast food. If you didn’t, you have not lived a full life. You’ve likely lived a better life, but I can’t call it a full life until you’ve experienced the horrors of working in fast food.

The one thing I loved about working at Chick-fil-A was getting Sundays off. Chick-fil-A will tell you that they don’t open on Sunday because of the founders Southern Baptist beliefs. That’s a lie. Chick-fil-A closes on Sunday because the founder was a football fan.

However, by closing on Sundays, Chick-fil-A really limits their potential. Instead of opening in the afternoon, when church lets out, and capitalizing on the church crowd, they just remain closed. Instead of capitalizing on the Sunday football crowd, Chick-fil-A just remains closed.

Chick-fil-A is great. Monday-Saturday, they are one of my favorite fast food restaurants. But they are closed on Sunday and that sucks.

Mike McCarthy is always closed on Sunday. He might be a genius starting on Monday all the way to Saturday. But when Sunday rolls around, his brain shuts off. He forgets how call offensive plays, he forgets how to call defensive plays, and he definitely forgets how to manage the clock.

Mike McCarthy is lucky to have Aaron Rodgers, who opens up in the afternoon for the post-Church crowd.

Chick-fil-A needs to be less like Mike McCarthy and find their Aaron Rodgers.
