No longer eating grass on the sidelines as a college football coach, Les Miles has found a new career as an actor.
Les Miles was one of the better college football coaches of the last two decades until he was unable to adapt and modernize his offense. That inability to change and morph his offense and philosophy ultimately got him fired at LSU where he won a national championship. Two years away from the sidelines has proven to be good for Miles, because he’s learning all about changing and adapting to his second career as an actor.
Yes, you read that right. Les Miles is an actor now and has some credits on his IMDb page to boot. The former Oklahoma State and LSU head coach isn’t quite Tom Hanks or Bobby De Niro yet, but he’s had cameos in When the Game Stands Tall and Camera Obscura and recently landed a speaking role in Angry Men, about the Challenger space shuttle tragedy.
Ross Dellenger of The Advocate had a wonderful feature about Miles’ second career as an actor I definitely recommend you read the entire story about his move from the gridiron to the big screen.

After the initial shock of Miles working as an actor faded, I have to say, I’m not entirely surprised. Miles always had an affinity for the camera and comported himself well when the lights were on him. He was always well-spoken and provided some of the best one-liners and press conferences during his time as a coach, especially when his star shone brightest at LSU.
Miles has done some TV work and I hope he’ll continue to do that as he could be really special in that role as an analyst and commentator. And despite his acting career, Miles isn’t shutting down the possibility of returning to the sidelines and feasting on the finest grass as a coach if the right opportunity presents itself.
Although, the chances of Miles winning an Oscar may be more likely at this point. Now wouldn’t that be an awesome story?
