4. Momentum is on the Wolverines’ side

The big “mo” seems to be on the Wolverines’ side heading into the national title game. I know, I get it, Villanova has been on fire lately, thrashing just about anyone that has got in its way. Just ask the Kansas Jayhawks how good the Wildcats are this year.

However, Michigan just has that ‘team of destiny’ feel. I know it’s a cliche phrase to describe an underdog that’s playing out of its mind, but since a Northwestern loss near the end of the regular season, the Wolverines have been on a war path. In fact, they have won 14 games since then, but a buzzer-beating victory over Houston in the round of 32 was the major confidence-booster.

That Jordan Poole buzzer-beater against Houston saved the Wolverines from an early exit and pushed them into the Sweet 16 with nothing but favorable matchups for the remainder of the tournament.

It doesn’t matter that Michigan’s best win was over a 6-seed, the Wolverines are playing great team basketball and no one has been able to keep them down for long.

Villanova better watch out because Michigan is playing like a team possessed.
