The Villanova Wildcats are national champions again. Donte DiVencenzo is their hero. Twitter has all your takez.

One of the craziest NCAA Tournaments in recent memories was concluded with an enormous blowout led by a heroic bench score. Donte DiVencenzo came off the Villanova bench to score 31 points on 10-of-15 from the field and 5-of-7 on 3-pointers, including 18 big points in the first half to help bring the Wildcats back from a deficit. In the end, Villanova finished off the Wolverines 79-62 to win their second national title in three years.

The dribble penetration and outside shooting of Villanova will get the most attention from this game but they played sensational defense and helped hold down a potent Michigan attack as well. As usual, Twitter was abuzz throughout the game, with the heroics of DiVencenzo taking center stage.

As the game wrapped up, attention shifted to congratulating both teams for their incredible seasons and the Wildcats for taking the ultimate prize.

The Villanova Wildcats should be back next year with an excellent chance to repeat. Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges may be headed for the NBA, but the Wildcats could return three starters in addition to DiVencenzo and highly touted incoming freshman Jahvon Quinerly. The key be may retaining head coach Jay Wright who could get significant interest from NBA teams with several jobs likely opening in the next few weeks.

Michigan is likely losing several key players from this team, including Moritz Wagner, but could bring back Charles Matthews and freshman Jordan Poole. With head coach John Beilein on the bench they’re still likely to be in the mix as one of the best teams in the nation again next season.
