Match – Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs. Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan

Kevin Owens is arguably the second biggest name in his own match. The story of Daniel Bryan returning after a years-long battle with concussions is fantastic. It seemed like he may never wrestle again, but here he is. The crowd is going to go absolutely berserk this Sunday for Bryan, and still, Owens could wind up putting out the best performance of the night.

Owens is a natural heel and he will be in his element. Bryan is likely going to get the biggest reaction of the night. Shane McMahon will be coming off a very serious (and very real) bout of diverticulitis. The crowd is going to hate Zayn and Owens before the bell even rings. Owens is probably the best man on the roster to take all that emotion and electricity and throw it right back in everyone’s face.

It’s hard to think of anyone else in WWE that evokes the reaction Owens does when he’s on his game as a heel. He’s arrogant, he’s mouthy and he knows exactly how to play to the crowd to get some boos. Most of the “smart” fans want to cheer KO but can’t because he’s too good at his job. Owens could ground either opponent as the crowd will want to see Shane taking big spots and Bryan running around doing his thing.

He and Zayn aren’t very likely to get a win Sunday night. Sure, their jobs on SmackDown are on the line. That just means they’ll show up on Raw the next night and switch shows. Bryan is not going to lose his first match back. Even in a loss, Owens is a perfect foil for this match. He’s going to springboard into the next part of the year on a high note.
