Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller went fishing and ended up with a dead hammerhead shark, and things are now getting ugly.

The Denver Broncos had a very rough season in 2017, going 5-11 and finishing in last place of the AFC West. Unfortunately for outside linebacker Von Miller, his troubles are extending into the offseason.

Recently, Miller went on a fishing trip and landed a hammerhead shark. The future Hall of Famer took a picture with the dead creature and posted it to social media, and is now the center of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The question is whether Miller killed the shark illegally, something that in the state of Florida could be punishable by a $5,000 fine and 60 days in jail, according to ESPN. That said, it would be shocking if Miller were given jail time.

Miller, 29, is hoping to avoid any kind of legal action before his eight seasons in the NFL. The former Texas A&M star has amassed 83.5 sacks and 21 forced fumbles in his illustrious career, all while winning Super Bowl 50 back in the 2015 campaign.

Denver is aiming to rebound from a poor year under first-time head coach Vance Joseph. The Broncos spent much of their offseason attempting to shore up what was an invisible offense, adding quarterback Case Keenum on a two-year deal worth $36 million.

General manager John Elway also has the fifth-overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft at his disposal. Elway might opt to get a franchise quarterback at that spot, or simply continue to upgrade the unit around Keenum.
