Giants visiting with Saquon Barkley, Bradley Chubb
The New York Giants have the second pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, and they are doing their due diligence by meeting with Saquon Barkley and Bradley Chubb.
It’s widely accepted that the Cleveland Browns are going to take a quarterback with the first-overall selection of the NFL Draft come April 26. However, the Giants remain a complete mystery with the next choice, having an opporunity to help their offense, defense or long-term future by trading down.
While general manager Dave Gettleman mulls over his options, New York is visiting with a couple of the best prospects in the draft. According to NFL.com, the Giants have set up visits with Penn State Nittany Lions running back Saquon Barkley and North Carolina State Wolfpack defensive end Bradley Chubb.
Barkley is the consensus top running back in the draft, with many comparing him to Le’Veon Bell of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He would immediately upgrade the backfield situation in Gotham, with Orleans Darkwa and Paul Perkins holding down the fort. With Eli Manning, Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard and Evan Ingram already in tow, the offense could take a huge leap forward in 2018.

Chubb would serve as a younger, 10-finger version of Jason Pierre-Paul. Pierre-Paul was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in March for a third-round pick 9and the swapping of fourth-rounders), leaving a hole opposite of Olivier Vernon.
New York could also decided to trade down, especially if a team with multiple first-round picks (i.e. the Buffalo Bills) come calling. Buffalo needs a quarterback and may want to jump ahead of the New York Jets, who select third.
