WrestleMania 34 preview: Ronda Rousey makes in-ring debut

Ronda Rousey will make her long-awaited in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34 when she battles alongside Kurt Angle against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

WrestleMania 34 features a ton of huge matches and big storylines to follow as WWE superstars and fans take over New Orleans this weekend, but none can top the build for Ronda Rousey’s in-ring debut as a WWE star.

The former UFC star has taken the professional wrestling world by storm since her start back at the Royal Rumble in January, and it’s finally coming to a head on the biggest stage of them all on Sunday. To add onto the starpower from Rousey alone, fans will get to see her team with Kurt Angle as they take on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

This whole battle has some deep roots, dating all the way back to WrestleMania 31. Rousey made an appearance in the ring alongside The Rock during a segment with Triple H and McMahon, and things got physical in the process. The Rock and The Game went back and forth, Rousey flipped Triple H straight to his back, and eventually locked in an armbar on McMahon to end things off.

Fast forward to the Royal Rumble in January, where Rousey shook hands with McMahon with a smirk on her face to end the show after her shocking debut. A month later, Rousey signed her WWE contract at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, and things escalated quickly as Rousey slammed Triple H through a table.

The build to this one climaxed when Rousey finally got her WrestleMania match on RAW, as she demanded to face McMahon in New Orleans on April 8. Angle made things a bit more interesting, making it a tag team match with him and Rousey squaring up with McMahon and Triple H.

This match could very well be the main event of the night, with a ton of possibilities. We know this isn’t going to be a one-off match for Rousey in a WWE ring, and she’s here to stay. Now, we’ll see her in the ring for the first time ever, and we’ll see what her future in the business holds. There’s no chance she loses her first match in WWE, but then the attention turns to what’s next for the former UFC champion after that.
