Everything might be bigger in Texas, but the TV schedule for the NASCAR race weekend there is pretty much the same size as always.
Fresh off a week off for Easter, NASCAR is ready to fire the engines back up at Texas Motor Speedway, with both the Cup Series and XFINITY Series in action this weekend. The O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 is the centerpiece event, with everyone looking to stop the juggernaut that is Stewart-Haas Racing at the moment.
SHR got back to the winners circle again two weeks ago at Martinsville, with Clint Bowyer pulling off a very popular win. He’ll certainly be worth watching, as will Kevin Harvick, who was fast here last year.
The Busch brothers have a long history of speed at Texas as well, making them top contenders even before the practice sessions get underway. Kurt, of course, could add to the Stewart-Haas Racing dominance, while Kyle could score the first 2018 victory for Joe Gibbs Racing.
On the XFINITY side, the garage has to be happy that Kyle Busch isn’t running in the My Bariatric Solutions 300, since he tends to win most of the XFINITY races he enters. A full field of 40 cars will hope to take advantage of his absence.
