Bayern Munich can clinch their sixth-straight Bundesliga title with a win, or if Schalke do not win this weekend. On Saturday, Augsburg host Bayern at WWK Arena. The Fuggerstadter are comfortably sitting in the middle of the table, save from being relegated but have almost no chance of qualify for Europe.

Augsburg have struggled lately, winning only one of their last seven games. After picking up five points over that stretch, Augsburg have dropped from seventh to 10th in the table. Icelandic striker Alfred Finnbogason is expected to return to the lineup for the first time in eight games. Finnbogason is tied with Michael Gregoritsch for the team lead in goals with 11. Defensively, Augsburg have allowed the seventh-fewest goals this season. Left-back Philipp Max has had a strong season and is in contention to make Germany’s World Cup roster.

Midweek, Bayern were able to come back and beat Sevilla 2-1 in Champions League. While Bayern won, the game was disappointing after the club played one of their best games of the season last Saturday, defeating Borussia Dortmund 6-0. Since the beginning of December, Bayern been dominant, losing only lost one game, and tying another. Robert Lewandowski has been incredible this season and this the Bundesliga with 26 goals. To put Lewandowski’s season in perspective, he has scored twice as many goals as Nils Petersen, who is second in scoring.

In their previous meeting this season, Bayern defeated Augsburg 3-0. Lewandowski scored a brace, while Arturo Vidal scored the other goal. Vidal might be unavailable to play on Saturday. The Chilean midfielder was injured during the international break and appeared to aggravate that injury against Sevilla.
