Watford host Burnley on Saturday in a game featuring two clubs with entirely different styles. Burnley are conservative, focusing on defending and only making selective attacks. Only Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham have allowed fewer goals than the Clarets. Watford have the opposite style, launching attacks with little regard for any defensive liability their attack leaves. Only Stoke have allowed more goals this season than the Hornets.

After scoring five goals in the first 12 games of the season, Richarlison looked like he was going to be a breakout star for the Hornets. However, the 20-year-old Brazilian has gone goalless in his last 20 games.

After picking up only three points in their first seven games to start 2018, Burnley have won three straight. Sean Dyche’s defensive system prevents opposing teams from generating good scoring chances. The Clarets have allowed only 27 goals in 31 games this season. However, Burnley’s defensive system prevents the club from being overly aggressive offensively. Only four clubs have scored fewer goals than Burnley this season. Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes have combined to score 15 of the Clarets’ 29 goals.
