WWE WrestleMania 34: Preview and predictions
Whatever Happens with John Cena and The Undertaker
This simply has to be addressed considering that no one has any idea what the hell is going to happen with this. John Cena has spent the past month trying to convince The Undertaker — or rather coax him out of hiding — to come and fight him at WrestleMania 34. Yet, we have not seen even a glimpse of the Deadman showing up. No smoke, no music, no ominous video packages, just silence in response to Cena’s calls.
However, what is the point of wasting long segments each week on RAW to have Cena come out and specifically call out a WWE legend if it’s not going to lead to anything? What’s more, it makes minimal sense for the company to have their biggest star tease something like a match against The Undertaker at Mania only to have someone else answer the call. Is there any way that wouldn’t result in some sort of disappointment? To the best of my knowledge, there doesn’t seem to be any other way for this storyline to end other than Taker showing up and at least doing something with Cena.
Ultimately, I think this has to end in some sort of a match. Granted, it’s a match that probably would’ve been better served happening something like five years ago, but it’s something that needs to transpire before Undertaker is simply physically unable to do anything at all in the ring. This may not be a classic match if it does transpire, either. However, there is no other logical outcome to any match other than Taker showing up and winning, achieving some sort of redemption at Mania and in New Orleans.
Prediction: The Undertaker shows up, they wrestle, Taker wins
