The Masters 2019: When does the tournament start?
By Staff
Another year, another green jacket awarded at The Masters. With the 2018 honors bestowed, when can you look forward to the 2019 Masters kick off?
The Masters 2019 tournament will start Thursday, April 11 and continue through Sunday, April 14, 2019. While most assume The Masters is the first weekend or week in April, that’s clearly not a hard and fast rule. The Masters will start the 2019 majors season on the PGA Tour the second week of April. Given we’re experiencing snow in many parts of the country — and plenty of rain down at Augusta National — perhaps that extra week is for the best.
As the final round of the 2018 Masters begins, golf fans will see Patrick Reed and Rory McIlroy face off in the final group. Reed chases his first majors and McIlroy, just 3 off Reed, is after a Majors win to make a career Grand Slam. Both feel the other is in the more pressure-filled position; neither is prepared to admit defeat.
As for the No. 1 storyline entering these Masters? Well, Tiger Woods is striving to make par for the tournament and what this performance means for his career is yet to be seen. His comeback is certainly still in the making and perhaps a Masters win was too much to ask for this fast. 2019 is a long way off, and who can really say what we can expect from Tiger in a year’s time. We certainly didn’t expect to be talking about him at the 2018 tournament.
After a wonderful four days, The Masters 2018 will come to a close and the PGA Tour will continue its season — returning once again to Augusta National, a tradition unlike any other, with the 2019 Masters, April 11-14, 2019.
