When is WWE WrestleMania 35?
WWE did not have WrestleMania 34 yet, but let’s look at the date fans can watch 2019’s WrestleMania 35.
On Sunday, April 8, after months of hype, WrestleMania 34 will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. It’s the second time in five years the WWE brings its biggest show of the year to the Big Easy. Of course, WrestleMania 35 will follow it in this show’s next go-aound. It takes place on April 7, 2019.
Its location — MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ — is not unfamiliar to WrestleManias. It hosted the event in 2013, WrestleMania 29, featuring some of the WWE’s biggest names.
John Cena and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson battled for the WWE Championship. One year after the Most Electrifying Superstar won at WrestleMania 28, the Leader of the Cenation got revenge in his latest main-event coronation at the Grandest Stage of Them All. The Rock has not competed since, unless a six-second match at WrestleMania 32 counts.
This show also marked The Shield’s WrestleMania debut. They battled and defeated the unlikely trio of Big Show, Randy Orton and Sheamus.
The Undertaker was in the midst of his WrestleMania streak, as he defeated CM Punk to become 21-0 at the Showcase of Immortals. It ended one year later at WrestleMania 30, when Brock Lesnar hit multiple F-5’s to finish one of WWE’s greatest statistical achievements.
As for Lesnar, he actually lost to Triple H at WrestleMania 29. It marked a rare defeat before a torrid run followed it, including multiple world championship reigns.
Other matches included Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger, The Miz vs. Wade Barrett and Mark Henry vs. Ryback. Who can forget Fandango’s shocking win over Chris Jericho, before falling into tag team obscurity?
