4. Making History

The Golden Knights are already making history. They made the playoffs in their first season as an NHL expansion team. That has only happened once in the NHL.

They are the second North American professional team to earn a playoff berth in their first season since 1990. It usually takes a few seasons to develop and grow a team.

Their record made history, too. 21-12-5 was the best mark for a first year team when they hit it. That beats the last NHL record of 19 by  the Mighty Ducks of Anahiem in 1999. They became road warriors .

The Golden Knights even broke the record for the most wins for an inaugural team, with 34 in February. Then they went on to exceed that, finishing with 51 wins.

They are doing well for an inaugral team. Records are always an accomplishment to celebrate and remember. But it’s not just one or two records they are breaking. The Golden Knights have managed to and surprise the league in convincing fashion.

This team looks to break more records in the playoffs. They are going in knowing that they have already exceeded and broken records that have stood for years.
