This week on the season finale of Legends of Tomorrow, Mallus is free in the world and the team must defeat him with help from a lot of friends.
After a full season of trying to fix time, which they broke in the last season finale, Legends of Tomorrow must now defeat the demon they released last episode.
Like any seemingly good plan on Legends of Tomorrow, the big plan to defeat Mallus by releasing him and using the totems on him went horribly wrong. Mostly because the plan hinged on the team trusting Damien Darhk.
Now the team must regroup, and Sara decides the Old West would be the best place to that. It means Jonah Hex will be around to help. And it gives the cast an excuse to create their own music video for Will Smith’s “Wild Wild West.”
Here is the synopsis for the season 3 finale, “The Good, the Bad and the Cuddly,” from Spoiler TV.
"The Legends plan to vanquish Mallus by using the totems doesn’t go as planned, forcing Rip (guest star Arthur Darvill) to improvise. The team finds itself regrouping in the Wild West where they run into their old pal Jonah Hex (guest star Johnathon Schaech). Sara (Caity Lotz) leaves Ray (Brandon Routh) in charge of watching Damien Darhk (Neal McDonaugh), while she comes up with a new plan. Meanwhile, Amaya (Maisie Richarson-Sellers) is determined to find a way to use the totems to destroy Mallus."
In addition to Jonah Hex, the finale will also feature the return of Jax. And when fighting a demon, having John Constantine around is a big help, so the demonologist is back. It is also likely that part of the finale will set up why Constantine will be a series regular in season 4.
All of the guest stars speak to the mind set that the creative team behind Legends of Tomorrow had while crafting this finale. As producer Phil Klemmer told Entertainment Weekly, “the goal of a finale is to spend all the money.” And that is what Legends of Tomorrow has done with this finale.

A lot of that money likely went towards actually showing more of Mallus. But the demon will not be the only fully CGI creature getting screen time in the finale. The Cuddly in the title refers to the one and only Beebo, who will be returning this episode. The question is if Beebo will be friend or foe to the Legends.
