3. Los Angeles Angels
Sho-time!
It’s not that much of a team thing; it’s more of a player thing. Shohei Ohtani has absolutely crushed it (literally), and it’s jolted a boost of excitement into the Angels that’s been missing.
Ohtani has played just two games in Anaheim, and he’s homered in both of them, most notably, off of reigning CY Young award winner Corey Kluber.
Oh, and on top of his two homers, Ohtani threw six innings of three-run baseball in a win against the A’s.
Obtain features an upper 90’s fastball, and some wicked off-speed pitches. Ohtani himself makes them a must-watch team by himself.
They also have Mike Trout, that guy is pretty good too.
Last year Trout missed 48 games, playing his lowest total games since his first stint with the Angels.
Los Angeles was also missing another huge part of their squad in Garret Richards. Richards only managed to make six starts all of last season, he was considered to be their best pitcher.
Despite all the injuries, the Angels still managed to play their way to a respectable 80 win season.
Now insert a full year (barring another injury) of Trout, and Richards, then, add Shohei Ohtani and Ian Kinsler to the mix?
Watch the Angels; you won’t regret it.
