4. Christian Kirk, Texas A&M

NFL comparison – Doug Baldwin

Projected draft position – Round 2

Teams around the SEC conference have been waiting quite some time for Christian Kirk to finally enter the NFL Draft. He has been something of a jack of all trades as not only a top pass catcher, but a great return man as well.

His three straight seasons of 70+ receptions shows that the kid knows how to catch the football and play the position. Kirk’s ability to get a quick, smooth release and find holes in defensive coverage combined with his advanced underneath routes were his bread and butter during his three years as an Aggie. He can turn swing/screen passes into good positive gains with nifty ball carrier skills and knowledge of where he is on the field.

Kirk isn’t the biggest of targets and his catch radius is less than ideal for an outside receiver, so the slot is where he will be most useful and do his damage. He is very elusive with great field awareness, and his ability to make defenders miss in the open field will give him another key role on any team as he can be very useful in the return game.
