WWE WrestleMania 34 results: Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns full video highlights

Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns went to battle in the main event of WrestleMania 34. Who walked out with the WWE Universal Championship?

Since WrestleMania 33, Brock Lesnar has held the WWE Universal Championship. One long year later, he entered Sunday’s WrestleMania 34 main event with the belt, set to face Roman Reigns. It’s a rematch three years in the making, as these two went head to head at WrestleMania 31 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but Seth Rollins interfered, cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and won the title. This prevented a decisive finish for Reigns vs. Lesnar.

Well, at the same Superdome in which Lesnar defeated The Undertaker in 2014, he returned to defend the Universal Championship. Was it successful?

The action was fast and furious from the moment the bell rang, much like every Lesnar match. The Beast Incarnate tossed his opponent around the ring with suplexes and Reigns followed with an early Superman Punch. Potentially a sign of things to come, as the fast pace may have indicated a quick bout.

It became Lesnar’s match after he took control at ringside. More suplexes and multiple tosses of Reigns highlighted this, all while the crowd tuned out with “CM Punk” chants. After seven hours, were the fans just burnt out?

The Big Dog finally took some control when he drove Lesnar onto one of the announce tables. However, his momentum did not last long, either, when the situation shifted toward the champion’s advantage in the ring, featuring an F-5, but he could not secure a pinfall. Lesnar also kicked out of multiple spears.

As the crowd continued to be disinterested, Lesnar hit a third F-5 and Reigns kicked out. They were still not into it and the potentially returning UFC fighter did not react well, shouting an obscenity.

Well, Lesnar hit a fifth F-5 and Reigns kicked out … again. It became repetitive and the crowd actually chanted “this is awful.” The former Shield member’s face was even covered in blood. So Lesnar hit one more F-5 and finally won.

This should go down as one of the worst WrestleMania main events of all time. An unspectacular ending that featured two heavyweights doing nothing but power moves, a disinterested crowd and continued attempts from two superstars that could not do anything to drive up interest in this match.
