18. Dan Carcillo
Most of the players on this list are here because their toothless grins aren’t attractive, but scream “hockey guy.” You could pick out any of these players in a crowd and know how they made their living.
Dan Carcillo is an outlier. For some reason, the Philadelphia Flyers/Chicago Blackhawks fan favorite looks better with a few teeth missing. He’s the only player on this list who might truly suit this look. Perhaps it is just because his career on the ice matched the toothless look so well.
Carcillo was a grinder. He worked hard, fought, got in the middle of every scrum and energized his guys. Opposing players hated him and opposing fans hated him even more. While he has had some infamous incidents through his career, there is one thing we can’t take away from Carcillo. He looks good with half a smile.
“Car Bomb” Carcillo is retired and is now running a non-profit organization that assists former NHL players suffering from post-concussion syndrome. Good smile, great guy.
