Boston Bruins

Zdeno Chara will lead the team in points for a defenseman

Go big or go home, right?

Zdeno Chara is over 40 years old. While his best hockey is behind him, he’s going to lead all Bruins defenseman in points for their run to the Cup this postseason.

Charlie McAvoy has certainly been one of the best rookies of the season, and he is the Bruins’ best defenseman right now. But Chara is still going to steal the points distinction from him this postseason. Chara only had one point in six playoff games last year, but Boston’s run this year is going to last more than six games.

Chara has played some of his best hockey in the playoffs for the Bruins. He had 15 points in the Bruins’ 2012-13 run to the Stanley Cup Final, and while that was awhile ago, he’s more than capable of raising his game to another level.
