The Los Angeles Chargers have pretty high expectations going into next season, as they nearly made the playoffs last year. While the team fell short of their goal, they did make an incredible comeback from their 0-4 start. If the Chargers would have made the playoffs after their terrible start, they would have become the second team in history to ever make the postseason after starting without a win in their first four games.
On offense, the Chargers are pretty solid heading into next season. Quarterback Philip Rivers is still very good at his position, and Melvin Gordon is a running back who can make plays onĀ the ground, and through the air. In addition, Keenan Allen rebounded well off of his torn ACL from the year before, and quickly resumed being one of the top wide receivers in the AFC West.
One area their offense needs improvement is on the offensive line, especially at the tackle position. They signed center Mike Pouncey away from Miami this offseason, so bringing in a player like Connor Williams from Texas at No. 17 makes a lot of sense. Williams has been a top tackle in college football for the last two seasons, and he should be the second off the board after Mike McGlinchey from Notre Dame.
