The Detroit Lions nearly made the playoffs for the second straight season in 2017, though they ended up falling just short. Still, they have one of the better quarterbacks in the NFC in Matthew Stafford, who signed a record-setting deal prior to last year’s campaign. Stafford is going to lead this offense to many points during the upcoming season, but the Lions need help on defense if they are going to challenge for the division.

The NFC North is going to be stacked next season, especially with Aaron Rodgers coming back healthy for the Green Bay Packers. The Vikinsg made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game, and the Chicago Bears are much improved over last season on paper. The Lions need to be better at getting after the quartebrack if they hope to contend, and Harold Landry can certainly help them in that department.

Landry could have been a first rounder last year, but decided to return to Boston College for one more year with the Eagles. He has that explosive first step that scouts crave, and on the Lions, he would team nicely with the edge rusher Ziggy Ansah on the defensive line next season. Detroit has the talent to make noise in 2018, and with Stafford under center, you know this team is going to be in every game they play.
