The Carolina Panthers made it back toĀ  the playoffs last season, after being one of the worst teams in football the year before. Quarterback Cam Newton finally looked healthy again, and first round pick Christian McCaffrey had a stellar rookie season. Adding him as a weapon to this offense in the first round was definitely the play, and they should add another offensive threat in the first round at the end of the month.

While McCaffrey was brought on to be a threat out of the backfield, the team needs help on the outside in the passing game. One player they could look to target is James Washington, who had an explosive career with the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Washington and quarterback Mason Rudolph were one of the best tandems in the Big 12, and he is going to be a terrific pro.

Newton needs weapons, and the window for him to get back to the Super Bowl may be closing. He has dealt with some terrible injuries, but with more weapons around him, it should take some of the pressure off of him on the offensive side of the ball. Carolina has the talent on both sides of the ball to make a run next season, but the NFC South is loaded, after sending three teams to the playoffs in 2017.
