Bayern Munich defeated Augsburg 4-1 on Saturday to wrap up their sixth consecutive Bundesliga title. With the title wrapped up, Bayern can now focus on sending manager Jupp Heynckes off with the treble again. Heynckes rested the majority of his regulars ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League game. Robert Lewandowski was one of six regulars not to start on Saturday. The Polish striker has scored 24 goals in 19 home games this season.
Sevilla have struggled in La Liga lately, dropping to seventh in the table after losing 4-0 to Celta de Vigo on Saturday. Vincenzo Montello’s side have lost three of their last four games, picking up only seven points in their last seven games. In the first leg, Sevilla outplayed Bayern in the first half before allowing the German side to comeback in the second half. Luis Muriel did not play against Celta de Vigo, suggesting that Montello might start him over Wissam Ben Yedder on Wednesday. Muriel has scored nine goals this season but has not scored in Champions League. Ever Banega missed the first leg with a yellow card suspension and his return will help Sevilla in midfield.
