Golden Knights vs. Kings live stream, Game 1: TV schedule, online and more
By Adam Stocker
The Vegas Golden Knights host the Los Angeles Kings in Game 1 of their first-round Stanley Cup playoff series. Here’s everything you need to know to watch.
After an incredible first season, the Vegas Golden Knights will host their first playoff game against arguably their biggest rivals, the Los Angeles Kings.
Vegas won the Pacific Division, winning 51 games and recording 109 points. Los Angeles qualified as the first wild-card team, picking up 98 points.
The Golden Knights’ success this season was largely due to an unexpectedly strong offense. Five different players scored at least 22 goals. William Karlsson led the club with 43 goals and 78 points, slightly more than Jon Marchessault.
However, if the Golden Knights have a weakness, it has been their success in the face-off circle. Vegas won only 48.9 percent of their draws. In goal, Marc-Andre Fleury had the best season of his career, recording a .927 save percentage. With three-time Stanley Cup winner Fleury in net, the Knights believe they can win the Stanley Cup this season.
The Los Angeles Kings’ success this season was largely due to their three franchise cornerstones. Anze Kopitar had an incredible two-way season, often matching up against opposing top lines and adding 92 points. Drew Doughty continues to be one of the best defensemen in the league, using his skating ability to make plays at both ends of the ice. Jonathan Quick had one of the best seasons of his career, posting a .921 save percentage.
However, for the Kings to advance and make a third Stanley Cup run, they need a secondary scoring option to step up. After looking like a potential buyout candidate, Dustin Brown completely rejuvenated his career, scoring 28 and adding 33 assists.

Jeff Carter could be the biggest X factor in the series. Carter is undoubtedly a very talented player, however, he only played in 27 games this season because of injuries. In those 27 games, Carter record 22 points.
The Kings will need Carter to elevate his game to give them a dynamic second center that forces Vegas to use its top defensive pairing.
