FanDuel MLB lineup and picks for Thursday, April 12
Shortstop, High End Spend
Trea Turner, $4,200
.600/.600/1.200 with 1 HR in 5 at-bats
Turner has been in this space often so far this year and at least we know he should be hitting higher in the lineup. Outfielder Adam Eaton is on the disabled list so Turner has his spot secure. His career splits against right handed pitching include a .304 batting average, .866 OPS, a .210 Iso (impressive for Turner), and a wOBA of .367. Albeit it being a very small sample size, he’s done very well so far off of Chad Bettis. As is always the case with Turner, he can steal multiple bases in any given game.
Also Consider – Didi Gregorius, $4,100
Mid-Range
Eduardo Nunez, $2,900
.250/.250/.625 with 1 HR in 8 at-bats
One bat from the Red Sox that might go over looked if you believe that Gray will struggle is Nunez. He’s nothing special but he’ll almost for sure be in the lineup since the Sox are missing shortstop Xander Bogaerts. This play might be more of a Red Sox stack style but Nunez is a solid hitter that is in the middle of a red-hot offense. He’s got a chance to score points in a variety of ways. His splits against righties are just average across the board.
Also Consider – Eduardo Escobar, $3,200
Value
Brandon Crawford, $2,400
N/A
If third and second base were a little ugly at the bottom of the barrel, shortstop might actually be worse. About the only option (not a great one) is Crawford and it’s just because he shows a little more power against righties than anything else. This is yet another position that we’ll likely sink a decent amount of money into.
