The Ohio State Buckeyes’ road to return to the College Football Playoff starts on Saturday, April 14 with their spring game, but what should you be watching for?
Many Ohio State Buckeyes football fans are likely still a little bitter about the way things played out at the end of the 2017 season. Sure, they topped the rival Michigan Wolverines, bested the Wisconsin Badgers in the Big Ten Championship Game and then went on to emphatically win the Cotton Bowl over the USC Trojans. That’s great, but it’s not how Urban Meyer has set the standard in Columbus.
Instead, teams are measured by National Championships and title chances. And, when the committee went into the room for the final time to determine who would play in the College Football Playoff, Ohio State didn’t get the nod.
Despite the fact that the 2018 College Football Playoff itself was phenomenal from start-to-finish, many Buckeyes fans thought they deserved inclusion over a team like Alabama. Yes, the Crimson Tide eventually won the title, but they didn’t even win the SEC Championship, so it’s easy to see the complaints of OSU fans.
Moving forward, however, the Buckeyes will be looking to get back into real contention for the CFP, but that’s an easier said task than done. This is a team that will look vastly different for the 2018 regular season, but we’ll get our first look at them on Saturday, April 14 in their spring game.
