9. The Habs Fan

Whether the Montreal Canadiens make the playoffs or not, Habs fans can’t resist telling you and everyone around how many cups the franchise has won. They haven’t won in over 25 years and most of their Cup wins came when there were only six teams in the league, but none of that stops them from throwing that “24” around as many times as they can.

Canadiens fans have been awfully quiet this year, given that their team is in complete shambles. Don’t expect that to stop them from showing up around playoff time to tell you that your favorite team is far inferior to theirs because of some cups they won in the 1960s and ’70s.

Any year that the Canadiens make the playoffs is a year we have to deal with their incessant nonsense. When they do make it, the only reason is Carey Price. They are never a threat to actually win, yet given how the fan base acts you’d think they were three-time defending champions.

Don’t forget to thank the hockey gods when the Habs are left out of the playoffs. It saves us all the headache.
