If you notice something different about Florida Gator football this year, you’re not alone.

Florida Gators’ fans all over the nation have waited patiently for the next football game. On Saturday, April 14 at 3 p.m. at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, they’ll get it.

The Orange & Blue Spring Game is a much-anticipated event in Hogtown. Local and out-of-state fans attend the game to get a taste of what Florida football has to offer for the upcoming season. This year’s game is of special interest to Gators fans, there’s a new sheriff in town.

Last November, Florida hired Dan Mullen as the head football coach. Mullen brings with him a whole new staff, including an intense strength and conditioning coach with the last name to match.

With a new coaching staff on the payroll, fans hope to see a change (ideally of the positive variety) on the field. Quarterbacks Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask appear to be competing for the starting spot. There’s no question that fans are anxious to see how both players perform on Saturday.

Any progress is welcome, though, no matter how small at first.

However, Florida fans aren’t just looking forward to seeing the team on the field. Many are excited for the chance to get together with fellow Gators to enjoy the day’s festivities. Food trucks, cook-offs, and other fan-friendly activities will occur before kickoff.

To complete the feel of a game day in the Fall, fans can also watch the traditional Gator Walk at 1 p.m. Mullen extended an invitation to former Florida football players and their families to participate in this year’s Gator Walk.

At Mullen’s request, fans need to show up and “pack the Swamp.” Not one seat should be empty.
