2. It has been foretold

Sport and superstition go hand in hand, and it’s no different with soccer. Whether it’s counting lampposts or wearing long sleeves, even the players and coaches have them. Some are ridiculous and some not, but any tarot reader worth their salt will tell you that the omens, if you believe in them, are good for Liverpool this time around.

Of Liverpool’s five Champions League titles, the two won in the 1980s stand out in particular. The reason is that the opposition in the finals in 1981 and 1984 were none other than Real Madrid and Roma, Liverpool’s opponents in the semifinals. Thus, using indisputable logic, only one remains to fall, and Liverpool will meet and defeat Bayern Munich in the final on May 26.

Okay sure, it’s all a bit silly but even if it doesn’t happen that way, how’s this for a coincidence…
