Ducks vs. Sharks live stream, Game 2: TV schedule, online and more
By Adam Stocker
The Anaheim Ducks host the San Jose Sharks in Game 2 of their first-round series. Here’s everything you need to know to watch.
The San Jose Sharks and Columbus Blue Jackets were the only road teams to win Game 1. In his first career playoff game, Evander Kane scored two goals, leading the Sharks to a 3-0 win. The Ducks need to win Game 2, to avoid heading to San Jose in a two-game hole.
John Gibson has long been considered the next great goalie. However, the Ducks’ goalie has never delivered. In Game 1, Gibson stopped 31 of 34 shots but has to be better for Anaheim to win. Offensively, the Ducks need their top players to step up. Anaheim’s three leading scorers in the regular season, Rickard Rakell, Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry combined for three shots.
Martin Jones stopped all 25 shots he faced in Game 1, picking up his fifth career shutout. San Jose could be getting Joe Thornton back for Game 2. Thornton missed almost half of the season with a knee injury but was activated off of injured reverse as he nears a return to the lineup. Brent Burns played 28:06 in Game 1 and was extremely productive. Burns scored a goal and had nine shots on goal, in addition to strong defensive play.

The loss of Cam Fowler has really hurt the Ducks. Head Coach Randy Carlyle played Fowler almost 25 minutes per game in the regular season. In Game 1, Carlyle relied heavily on his top four defensemen. Anaheim’s third pairing of Marcus Pettersson and Andy Welinski played under 13 minutes in Game 1.
