Oklahoma spring game 2018: Live stream, TV channel, date
The Oklahoma Sooners 2018 spring game will be played on Saturday, April 14 in Norman, OK, and here’s all the info you need to watch.
What does Oklahoma Sooners football look like without Baker Mayfield? That’s a question we haven’t had to answer in three years, but it’s one that head coach Lincoln Riley faces heading into the 2018 season. And he and the rest of the college football community will start to get their answers on Saturday in the 2018 spring game.
Kyler Murray, a transfer from Texas A&M, is the guy many have pencilled in as the successor to Mayfield at the helm of the Sooners offense. He has a bit more athleticism than Mayfield, but may not be the same precision thrower that his predecessor was. Still, the Oklahoma spring game will give a peak into just how good he could possibly be.
Meanwhile, offense wasn’t an issues for the Sooners last season, but defense was. That’s why Riley and his staff will surely be looking to rectify that starting now. They’ll be looking for guys to not only step into holes left by veteran players like Jordan Thomas, but also to see if the unit as a whole can step up their play this season or not.
After a trip to the College Football Playoff last season, the Sooners would love to get on that track again this year. And as always, that will start with what happens in the Oklahoma spring game.
