After an exciting Game 1 between the Colorado Avalanche and the Nashville Predators, it’s time to make our predictions for Game 2.

Despite the score the Avalanche kept up with the Predators and did not seem too intimated. They were about even in shots throughout the game. There was a lot of energy that the two teams will look to bring to Game 2.
Filip Forsberg was a force to be reckoned with, scoring two of the five goals in Game 1. Forsberg is going to be a challenge for the Avalanche. The Predators have a good core of forwards who find ways to win.
The Predators did a good job of defending the Avalanche’s top line, Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen. They were in control of 68.75 percent of scoring chances in even strength.
Right now Nashville has the momentum, but Colorado has the motivation. The Predators are going to have defend against the Avalanche’s desperation and push. One team will need to be in control of the pace in the game.
Nashville has trouble with penalties, amassing 372 in the regular season. Those little mistakes could be costly in this game. Colorado did have eighth best power play in the NHL. The playoffs look to be no different. They like to take advantage of the other team’s mistakes. Both teams had their fair share of penalties in Game 1.
