The Food City 500 almost made it to the point where it would be official, but then the rains came and wouldn’t let up. Find out where and when to watch the remainder of the race on Monday.
NASCAR really, really tried to defeat Mother Nature on Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway and get the Food City 500 in before rain washed the rest of the day away. To do so meant completing the first two stages, and despite taking multiple red flags to try waiting out the rain, it just wasn’t meant to be.
So the Food City 500 will resume on Monday with just under 300 laps remaining. Kyle Larson is the current leader, though the yellow flag period to start the race’s second day could shuffle the running order just a tad before things get going again.
Larson led 74 laps before the race was postponed, but it was an eventful day between delays. Ryan Blaney dominated Stage 1, leading 99 laps, but got caught up in a wreck before he could take the green and white checkered flag, handing the stage win to Brad Keselowski. Several other top drivers, including Martin Truex Jr., have also been involved in incidents in the first half of the race.
The question now is who will be able to adjust the best to what will undoubtedly be a pretty different set of track conditions on Monday. To find out, here’s the info you’ll need to watch the remainder of the race live:
