3. The Golden Knights welcome their fans to T-Mobile Arena for the home opener

The entire story of the Vegas Golden Knights has been nothing short of amazing, and many would say it is the best story to come from the league in a long time. The regular season home opener was realistically where the whole story began, with a 5-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes.

Now, it wasn’t the score that made this game special, although it did help them set one of the first of the many records the team has set since the start of the year by making them the first expansion team to start 3-0-0 in their inaugural season.

The game took place in a time of tragedy and mourning as the game was only 10 days after the tragic shooting that took place on the Las Vegas Strip that saw upwards of 800 people injured and a total of 58 killed.

Deryk Engelland, who played professionally with the Las Vegas Wranglers for a period of time, gave a beautiful, touching speech to the people of Las Vegas, creating an immediate bond with the team and the fan base that has been strong all season.

It was a classy and touching way to introduce a team to a fan base and it was a blowout win to boot. You can bet it will be remembered by the people of Vegas for a long time.
