After nearly a full year, The Originals finally returns for its fifth and final season. It is time to learn what life is like for the now teenage Hope Mikaelson.
When The Originals finally returns on Wednesday, seven years will have passed since the events of last year’s finale. The Mikaelson siblings are all in different parts of the world as to not awaken the Hollow.
Luckily, the youngest family member, Hope, now played by Danielle Rose Russell, has spent the past seven years learning about her magic powers at Caroline and Alaric’s school in Mystic Falls. And Hope really want to see her father again, even if that means potentially awakening an ancient evil again.
Here is the synopsis for the episode “Where You Left Your Heart” from Spoiler TV.
"Desperate to see her father Klaus (Joseph Morgan) after seven years, Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) resorts to drastic measures to bring her father back to New Orleans. Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) attempts to minimize the fallout from Hope’s actions, but not before news of what she’s done ripples through the city. Meanwhile, Freya’s (Riley Voelkel) guilt over not being able to reunite her family gets in the way of her happiness with Keelin (guest star Christina Moses), while Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt) struggles with her inability to fully commit to Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). Finally, struggling without Elijah (Daniel Gillies) by his side, Klaus’ murderous rampage throughout Europe leads to an unexpected encounter with Caroline Forbes (guest star Candice King)."
Of course, whatever Hope is planning works because it wouldn’t really be The Originals if the family stayed separate for long. And it all starts with Klaus meeting his daughter again.
Too bad Klaus is not exactly in the most fatherly place when season 5 begins. Thanks to a combination of thinking he can never see his daughter again, and Elijah not being around to be his moral compass, Klaus has spent the last seven years creating a trail of bodies through Europe.

Now it is time for all of the Klaroline fans to rejoice. Caroline Forbes returns for the premiere to specifically help Klaus. She will give him a crash course in how to talk with his now teenage daughter, seeing as the twins are around the same age as Hope. Pretty sure the most important lesson for Klaus will be that he needs to stop murdering his way through places.
