2018 NFL Mock Draft: Josh Allen heads to Browns
By Brad Weiss
Originally, the Buffalo Bills were supposed to pick at No. 21 and 22 in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. However, they traded away pick No. 21, and left tackle Cordy Glenn to Cincinnati to grab the No. 12 overall pick in the first round. While they still may make a move to get into the top-10, if they stay at No. 12, they may be able to grab a player like Baker Mayfield from Oklahoma.
Currently, the Bills have A.J. McCarron penciled in as the starter, and they do have Nathan Peterman on the roster. Neither of those two will likely warm the hearts of the fans in Buffalo, who have been looking for their next franchise quarterback since Jim Kelly. Mayfield has overcome a lot of odds during his college days, going from being a walk-on, to winning the Heisman Trophy last year.
The Bills were a playoff team last season, and their defense is good enough to get them back there. They need help at the most important position on the field, and with so many good quarterbacks in this draft class, they should be able to get one. Mayfield has the drive needed to lead teams to playoff wins, and the Bills have not won a playoff game since December 30, 1995. Its been a long time coming.
