The Washington Redskins have their work cut out for them next season, as the NFC East should be one of the more talented divisions in football. The New York Giants will be better than their 3-13 record from a year ago, and the Philadelphia Eagles are the Super Bowl champs. In addition, the Dallas Cowboys will have Ezekiel Elliott back for a full 16-game slate, so the Redskins need to make sure they do not take another step back.

The organization made a nice move by bringing in Alex Smith this offseason, as he is fresh off two AFC West titles with the Kansas City Chiefs. Smith replaces Kirk Cousins, who the team just could never make a commitment to. On the other side of the ball, the Redskins need help in their secondary, and Minkah Fitzpatrick could fall to them at No. 13 overall in the first round.

Some mocks have Fitzpatrick going a lot earlier, and that certainly could be the case. A few teams ahead of the Redskins need help in the secondary, but Fitzpatrick makes a lot of sense going to Washington towards the middle of round one. If the Redskins want to win the division next season, they have to get better against the pass, and Fitzpatrick is one of the more versatile defensive backs in this entire draft class.
