Tom Brady will most likely play another season in the NFL, but he hasn’t yet committed to it and the internet loves drama.
On Tuesday, Aaron Rodgers was a trending topic all day thanks to comments he made that appeared to indicate his growing frustration with the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers’ frustration shouldn’t be too concerning to fans as still has at least four years of service left with the Packers.
Tom Brady must have heard that another franchise quarterback in the league was kicking up dust and decided he wanted in on the drama. Wednesday brought a report from Adam Schefter that the Patriots have yet to hear from Brady about his commitment to the 2018 season, this raising concerns that he’s not going to be there.
"“I believe he’s going to be there,” another person who knows Brady told ESPN. “However, having said that, we’re dealing with a human being. Things can change. But I do believe he will be playing.”"
This seems to fly in the face of Brady saying he wants to play until he’s in his fifties, but who knows. It’s the middle of the offseason and the lull before the craziness of the NFL Draft — we need some drama to feast on.
Let’s just be clear about this: Tom Brady is playing in 2018 and there’s nothing that will change that. As much as he has a subtle flare for the dramatics, this isn’t how Brady will let his football story end.
If Peyton Manning can retire on top, there’s no reason to believe that isn’t the goal for Brady as well. He’s a guy who will have a complete farewell tour in his final season, he’s not going to go quietly into the night and retire in the middle of April.

All of this is great conversation, because we’re eventually going to cross that bridge, but it’s still a little further down the road.
