It was another forgettable year for a franchise that failed to win a game in 2017. But is there finally some hope for the Cleveland Browns?
The numbers are absolutely astounding. The Cleveland Browns rejoined the National Football League in 1999 as an expansion team. Over that span, they have employed nine different head coaches, 28 different starting quarterbacks and own a combined 88-216 regular-season record. The team has posted only two winning campaigns over that span made one playoff appearance – that coming in 2002.
Since opening the 2014 season with a 7-4 mark, the Browns are a mind-blowing 4-49 in their last 53 contests. Hue Jackson remains the team’s head coach despite a 1-31 record – including a 0-16 showing this past season. But there is a new boss when it comes to acquiring talent as the franchise hired John Dorsey as their general manager. Can he get this franchise pointed in the right direction?

The team was extremely active when the new fiscal year began on March 14. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor, wide receiver Jarvis Landry and cornerback Damarious Randall were all acquired via trade. The Browns also signed running back Carlos Hyde away from the San Francisco 49ers and grabbed cornerback E.J. Gaines from the Buffalo Bills.

All told, Dorsey and the Browns have nine picks at their disposal in this month’s draft. That includes the first and fourth overall, as well as two of the top three picks (33 and 35) in the second round. Can the team take advantage of this opportunity and finally put the team on solid ground?
